Guess where I went this weekend? That's right, one of my absolute favorite places, my beloved Target (and yes, I just pronounced it Tar-jay in my head). I've been a Target super fan for years. I love every section of the store. It doesn't matter what I'm shopping for, I'd rather shop for it there. From household necessities and groceries to trendy clothes and designer-worthy home decor, I can always find anything and everything at Target.
I went there specifically to purchase some additional dish towels. I purchased a 2 pk of Dual-Sided Green Striped Terry Kitchen Towels by Threshold™ a few weeks ago, and I liked them so well I wanted more. One side is what I would call a kitchen-y towel texture and the other side is a very soft bath towel-like terry texture. I also picked up a matching Set of 4 Waffle Dishcloths in the same shade of green.
Surprisingly, I chose the green over the pretty shade of blue. You'll notice that blue is a common theme in many of my design choices, but I preferred the green hue of these kitchen towels. I've noticed a lot of green elements in home decor lately. According to House Beautiful one of The 2024 Color Trends That Designers Predict Will Dominate Our Homes is shades of greens.
Here are the dish towel options in dark blue, gray, and yellow.
And the matching dishcloths.
Although I only went there for dish towels, naturally I had to peruse the entire store. I don't know if it was because I had decided ahead of time that I wouldn't purchase my usual cartload of goodies, but so many things in the home section caught my eye. Yes, I was the weird lady in the store taking photos of things I liked, but I only took a few. I could have probably taken 30 more, I'll save those finds for another day.
As mentioned, green seems to be an "in" color this year, and I have to say, I'm here for it. These Green Flared Glass Vases from none other than the Joanna Gaines aka Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia are available in varying heights of 5, 12, and 16 inches.
Speaking of vases, I have been shopping on Amazon for vases and already have some products picked out for an upcoming blog post. Today I stumbled upon this White Textured beauty by Threshold™, perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any space.
I zoomed in on the shorter vase in my photo, but it's available in heights of 10" and 14". The stock photos aren't exactly true to scale, but both are the same diameter at 5". The stock photos also make them appear a brighter white than they are in person.
One last vase I'll share is another Threshold™ Textured Vase, this time in black. There was only one lonely round vase left on the shelf, leading me to believe it must be a popular style. I really like the shape of it and the vertical lines of the texturing. It leans a little more on the modern side than the previous style in white.
Here's a stock photo of the vase styled in an entry:
It's available in the 7.25" round option, and an oblong version that's 12.5" tall.
I also found these chic Gold Taper Candleholders by Threshold™. I've been looking for some slim candleholders for our fireplace mantel in black, but these have me reconsidering. They're a set of 3 in heights of 5", 7.5", and 10.25".
With tapered candleholders, you have to have candles. These 2 pks of 10" Unscented Ribbed Taper Candles also by Threshold™ were displayed next to the candleholders. They are available in four great colors.
Okay, I'm on the fence about this next item. I've been seeing home accessories with similar curved shapes and hollowed-out centers like this funky modern Curved Ceramic Sculpture, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. This one is from Threshold™ designed with Studio McGee. I'm kind of digging it, but then again, I'm not so sure. What do you think?
Now, if you're like me and don't have a green thumb, artificial succulents are perfect when you need an extra dab of greenery. I like artificial plants that appear as realistic as possible, which is what I find great about these succulents. They are by Threshold™ and in a Long White Pot that's 9" wide and only 2.5" deep, so it's perfect to layer with other accessories.
Everything I read and watch related to home accessories always refers to the "Rule of Three", meaning you group decor items in threes. I don't have a lot of surfaces to display large accessories, so sometimes I need something pretty small like this 7.5" Mini Faux Succulent by Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia to fill a space. This one has a deep green tone, and like the previous one, it also looks very real.
Looking for a piece of art to use on a gallery wall or that's small enough to use as an accessory on an entry table or sideboard? The name says it all for this 16" x 12" Moody Trees Framed Wall Canvas Board by Threshold™ designed with Studio McGee. I love the deep greens and browns of the print and the champagne gold-colored frame is perfect.
Let's not forget about the cozy stuff. Chunky knit throws seem to be all the rage and these Raised Striped Throw Blankets by Threshold™ designed with Studio McGee are so snuggly. The dark tan is a beautiful shade that is similar in color to a camel-colored leather sofa. They are 60" x 50" in size and there are two other options in sage and cream, both great colors. Who can resist a cozy throw? I wished I had purchased the dark tan while I was in the store, but now that I've seen the sage, I may have to order it instead. There I go, gravitating toward green again.
One rule of being a mom is that you can never have too many photos of your kids or photo frames to display them. I love these Wire-Edge Brass Picture Frames by Hearth & Hand™ with Magnolia. One size is matted to fit a 4x6 photo, and the other is matted to fit a 5x7.
Last but not least, since my last post was about mirrors, I have to share the 28" Round Decorative Wall Mirror by Project 62™. The size is a little small for our living room, but it would make a great bathroom mirror, especially as a pair over a double sink. It's also available in gold, which I love for the bathroom.
I hope my fellow Target aficionados enjoy these pieces as much as I do. I'm thinking about making this a weekly blog post because it gives me an excuse to "have" to make a Target run every week!
Happy decorating, friends!
